The recent progress in bio-based research has led to the accumulation of a large amount of meaningful biomedical data. The focus of my research is to design applications that employ automated computational methods for reducing complexity and for improving data-driven representation, integration, analysis, interpretation and for discovering meaningful patterns and relationships in large biomedical datasets. The development of efficient and scalable data mining methods requires knowledge that bridges multiple fields such as Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computer Science and Biology. My research focuses on the development and application of the computational methods for  various biological problems. My current interests are to utilize next-generation sequencing technologies to gain insight into the molecular mechanisms behind various processes.
